IBA Thüringen

The IBA Stadtumbau (IBA Urban Development) took place parallel to the IBA Fürst Pückler Land and sought to find new concepts for cities in Saxony-Anhalt. Population decline and economic transformation are processes that require corresponding urban conversion initiatives to address the problems of property vacancy, dereliction and financial deficits. Saxony-Anhalt was the first entire federal state to become the focus of an IBA.
